Lake Norman is dressed for the holidays and in full swing! Maybe you’ve attending the tree lighting or checked out Christmas in Davidson (which by the way had drawn more locals than I have ever seen at a town event….EVER). I was told that they expect 20,000 annually. It really feels like Christmas living in an area with with so much holiday spirit!
Being a local Realtor, I often get asked the best places to shop . And maybe you’ve finished up your shopping or still have a few people left on your list. Lake Norman does not have a shortage of places to shop. When we had moved to North Carolina, it was a concern for us. Not to worry, here at the Lake there is more than enough places to complete your holiday shopping. We have South Lake Mall in Charlotte, especially during the holidays, is absolutely beautiful (not to worry, they removed the Glacier) and has stores like Macy’s, American Girl Store, LUSH, Pottery Barn and so many more! The North Cross Shops has The Black Lion, Target, Kohls, Marshall’s, Home Goods, and Game Stop to name of a few, and of course my favorite place to shop even when it’s not Christmas, Birkdale Village.
Birkdale Village has a name for itself because it is a successful development with shopping, residents and restaurants all rolled into one. There are the stores that everyone knows like Barnes and Nobles, Pier One, Victoria’s Secret, GAP, Gymboree to name a few, but there are also smaller privately owned stores there as well which contribute to it’s charm.
If you are in “the Village” and are looking for a cute boutique with fashion accessories, my recommendation is to pop in Molly Malone’s Boutique. Not only do they have super cute accessories, the staff is very helpful! They have 5 stores in the lake Norman area and there is a reason why. I had inquired about a bracelet that I had seen a while back and the sale associate offered to have it brought from another location for me. I find that impressive and the level of customer service at the Lake to to be refreshing. You do not need to leave the Lake to get really great gifts for the holidays!
